For a more ethical supply chain

Last February, the La Chevrolière site was audited according to Sedex’s SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) standard by SGS, once again demonstrating its commitment to a more ethical supply chain.

Sedex is an organisation which aims to certify that the entire supply chain is sustainable, with the aim of improving working conditions in global supply chains.

The SMETA audit is based on 4 pillars:

  • Labour standards and social law
  • Health and safety at work
  • Environment
  • Ethics in the workplace

Firstly, the company responded to the Sedex questionnaire and then 42 people representing the site’s workforce, including staff representatives, were interviewed.

These interviews are individual and confidential.

They also audited :

  • The Human Resources Director
  • The Health, Safety and Environment Manager
  • The Purchasing Manager and the Maintenance Manager.

During the last SMETA audit, which took place from 7 to 9 February 2023, a number of initiatives were praised:

  • Partnership in the context of psycho-social risks
  • The presence of an Internal Operations Plan (POI), usually reserved for Seveso sites (risk of major accidents)
  • Good integration of disabled workers (deaf-mute)
  • Numerous biodiversity initiatives around the La Chevrolière site.

A number of improvements have been proposed and are currently being considered to strengthen our commitment.

A new audit was validated at the beginning of 2024.
